Helen Hall Wins First Roy Dean Grant of 2013
for “Pictures of Infinity”

Documentary reveals Nikola Tesla’s vision of a sustainable energy future.

Oxnard, CA August 14th, 2013 – From The Heart Productions has announced that filmmaker Helen Hall has been awarded the Roy W. Dean Spring Grant for 2013. She and her project, “Pictures of Infinity” will receive nearly $30,000 in film goods, services, support, and cash to help her complete her project.

Chosen from a record number of 170 grant entries, “Pictures of Infinity” will show for the first time in film Nikola Tesla’s vision of a sustainable energy future and how his work revealed a radical new direction in science and civilization. It will explore Tesla’s concept of a universe that is alive and breathing; filled with dynamic energy which he called the ‘aether’, or the‘wheelwork of nature’. This energy will become visible and audible through evocative images of nature, computer-animated graphics, dramatizations of Tesla’s discoveries, and with spinning, swirling streams of radiant music and sound.

“More than a century ago the great visionary scientist, engineer and humanitarian Nikola Tesla predicted the current environmental crisis and knew we would need a radical solution.” says director/producer Hall. “He devoted the last part of his life to providing one, with his discovery that the earth produces an unlimited reservoir of natural energy and his invention that harnesses it, based on an entirely new understanding of physics.”

The Roy W. Dean Grant is awarded 3 times each year. Founded by Carole Dean, President of From The Heart Productions, the grant seeks to foster films that are unique and make a contribution to society. Now in its 21st year, the grant has given away over $2,000,000 to aid in filmmakers in making their dreams a reality. It has helped launch the careers of many excellent filmmakers and helped create many award winning narrative and documentary films.

The generous donors for the grant include a wide cross section of established industry companies. Among the donations that director Hall can use for her project are $500 in tape stock from Edgewise Media, a 30% discount on equipment rental from Abel Cinetech in New York, and a $1,600 sound mix session from Silver Sound. Individuals who have donated their services include entertainment lawyer Corky Kessler, story consultant Fernanda Rossi, and voice over specialist Claire Papin.

From The Heart Productions is a 501c non-profit. Besides sponsoring the grant, it is also a fiscal sponsor for many filmmakers. This arrangement allows donations made to their films to be tax deductible. From The Heart is a partner with indiegogo.com and has raised over ½ million dollars crowdfunding films. President Carole Dean is the best-selling author of “The Art of Film Funding” which is now in its second edition.
